Pazuzu - Abeyance

This is a sample from Chapter One “The Good Morrow” in the book “Pazuzu – Abeyance” by Matthew Sawyer.

Tamara Stoughnt is convinced her boy is the manifestation of the messiah.  The revelation explains why she was given a child at her age.

“Becoming the mother of god was a grace Tamara Stoughnt would never have fascinated.  The very idea seemed irreverent and profane.  The Church would condemn the thought as blasphemous thinking.  But what joy the event brought!  Tamara’s life has been ascribed meaning.  There was a reason she was sent a child in her old age.  It wasn’t the curse she had accepted it to be after all.  The purpose has been graciously revealed.  Punishment had been transformed into a blessing.  Words could not describe the spectrum of awe, wonder and happiness filling her.  When she asked the new priest at St. Erasmus to petition the Mortal God to heal her sick son, she didn’t imagine her boy would become the incarnation of the messiah.  That was much too grand for her to ever conceive.  It was truly a miracle.”
