Taking out Garbage
This is a sample from Chapter Seven “Cast Flower” in the book “Pazuzu – Emergence” by Matthew Sawyer. This is the second book in the “Pazuzu” series.
Dil Cortras disposes of assassin sent to kill him.
“As Ben paced between the pews hard grunting echoed from the hall. A large bloody hump balanced precariously on Dil’s shoulder. One arm steadied it. The other ended with a nearly finished bottle of wine. Dil was hunched under the weight of the dead man. He stumbled to either side bumping into the walls as he came. The sound of his panting was distorted. He was trying to laugh but didn’t have the wind. By the time Dil cleared the hall his knees were about to buckle. The toes of the dead man’s shoes plowed before Dil’s staggering path. Dil was close to tripping over them with every step. He lifted his head. A manic grin possessed a face wet with tears and drool.”
