Hate to See It Go

Following my perigee moon post, I recognized I could whip together much better images of the moon. I found another lunar body in another of my paintings and used the image in collages with other pieces of my art. Thumbnails of my new digital, moonscape paintings are pasted below. Prints of these images are available for sale at Deviantart. The images are also available as prints on clothing at Cafepress.

The painting, Refined Perigee Moon, is an updated copy of my first images called Collaged Painting II. I debated including the glow the moon casts in the original piece, but settled for detailed and reserved the luminescent quality for the first digital painting.

Moon Group, Result XIII displays a darkened full moon over mountains. The pieces numbered XI – XVI comprise the largest batch of prints with a digitally manipulated moon. The original paintings were completed in Acrylic paints.

Moon Group, Result VII inherits the sky I crafted for the book cover of my story, Gaunt Rainbow. The moon is the only excerpt from a physical painting. The landscape was conjured digitally.

About isylumn

Grandiose, I know, but I knew the stories I wanted to write - years of drawing monsters had spun my own mythology and I hoped for something comparable and real. The book I wanted to write would fulfill a fading desire and breathe life into the chimeras I had sketched into my notebooks. That visual mythology was collectively called "The Mortui Philosophies." I had tried animation, but the repetitive work only produced frustration. So much in fact, I joined the 'sane' world and switched careers into Internet Technology. Secure, I had stopped painting and focused on a very rewarding career. After a few years lacking expression from my creative self, my Pazuzu Trilogy took its first breath. View all posts by isylumn
